Lead. Engage. Inspire
The PA profession is poised for major advances in 2017 - but we need your help. There are big decisions and issues facing the profession. What should our recertification process be? What should PA practice authority look like? How might the recent Supreme Court decision, North Carolina Board of Dental Examiners v. Federal Trade Commission, impact PA regulation?
From new payment models to changing demographics to patient demands for transparency and accountability, the healthcare environment is changing rapidly. An environment of change and experimentation is creating a significant opportunity for us to take the next decisive steps toward the future we envision for the profession. Bringing together the perspectives and voices of PAs from all over the country and different specialties and settings is the next step toward making our vision a reality.
This is where you come in. Our goal is to have representatives from every constituent organization attend the 2017 Leadership and Advocacy Summit, March 4-5 in Arlington, Va.
And a new format this year should make it easier than ever to attend. With a new administration and a new Congress taking office early next year, we have elected to focus the 2017 LAS on state and specialty practice rather than federal advocacy, so we will not have a designated Capitol Hill day. An abbreviated weekend schedule should make it easier for even more PAs and PA students to participate.
The program will include presentations and discussions on four issues of particular importance:
- PA Practice Authority
- The Future of PA Recertification
- The Federal Trade Commission and Competition Advocacy
- Implementation of the new AAPA Model State Law and Guidelines for State Regulation of PAs
LAS will also offer engaging CME, state advocacy skill-building and reimbursement sessions, and much more. See the preliminary program for the full schedule.
Registration opens October 27. Reserve your seat at this special event by registering now, and please forward this invitation to any others who may be interested. Please contact email@example.com if we can answer any questions or provide further guidance as you prepare for this event.
